OTA Quality Engineer
The OTA Quality Engineer role will support the entire enterprise in the integration, troubleshooting, data analysis, triage, and systems execution of Over-the-Air Performance to ensure first time quality and efficient issue resolution. This exciting role will support the technical deployment of many OTA software features and functions across the portfolio of VIP and SDV platforms.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with both internal departments and external companies to implement OTA as part of a full Software Solution. Cross functional collaboration will include strategic and tactical interactions with CIEs/PLSIEs, Software Integration, OTA Deployment, Vehicle Teams, Software Quality, OTA Microprocessors, Component & Subsystem Development, ECU Hardware, and many others.
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at Milford Proving Ground - Bldg 22 & 23 HR, Security, Medical, Powertrain at least three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform as OTA Quality, Performance, and Triage engineer across all vehicle programs.
- Support the performance of OTA Programming including early development, issue resolution, test fleet triage, and many other critical OTA technical leadership activities throughout the entire organization.
- Assist the technical resolution and troubleshooting of issues stemming from OTA CTFs, Fleet Triage, development vehicles, vehicle plants, and the entire car park.
- Work in partnership with ECU DREs, software VESCOM Verification program teams, OTA Deployment Operations, and the OTA Subsystem/Component organization to ensure issues are understood and comprehended in requirements, CGs, and test cases.
- Aid in the triage, root cause, and resolution, of all OTA performance issues stemming from vehicle software, OTA Engine (CGM, TCP, VCU), back office, parts authoring, connectivity, and any other OTA performance or quality concerns.
- Collaborate closely with Vehicle Update Services - VUS Software Integration (CGM, TCP, VCU) and other ECU teams (ACP, EBCM, etc.) to ensure OTA Performance is achieved.
- Execute as member of OTA Problem Resolution (triage) team in all activities supporting issue identification, support, and resolution including CGM/CAN log analysis and vehicle data acquisition.
- Work closely with Development Teams, OTA Deployment Operations, 12V Parasitic, brand quality managers, field service engineers, and OTA customer service engineers to identify and resolve issues related to or stemming from OTA Programming and Performance.
- Drive the deployment and usage of OTA Component Tester Tools, OTA on system benches, CVF Benches, CTF Fleets, Development Vehicles, and Vehicle Automation.
Minimum Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of software development, quality, integration, triage, or program management experience.
- Travel required as needed (10-20%) between GM Facilities (MPG and Warren), plus vehicle plants as necessary.
- Strong project management and troubleshooting skills, coupled with highly effective interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
- Demonstrated ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions, which are timely, and in the best interests of the entire organization.
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington
- Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $75,000 - $119,800. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
