Salary:  From 2600 eur monthly, 0-15% yearly bonus, other benefits according JLR rule

 

OPPORTUNITY

This role is responsible for the performance of the JLR and 3PL operational team to deliver all operational targets by ensuring volume, quality and associated scorecard metrics such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale and Environment are met.  This role will manage the day to day JLR, DHL operation, maintenance functions over multi-shift operations within budget ensuring all material is delivered on time to relevant JLR overseas assembly operations (India / Brazil). Provide UK IEO based support for any requirements from overseas plants to enable their delivery of operational targets.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

 

  • Initial project leadership and inputs into design and delivery of new packshop mirroring UK packing processes where appropriate
  • Shift lead for JLR Operations team ensuring 3PL meet operational build targets and supporting with any obstacles to achievement
  • Attend daily Start of Shift Meeting and prepare End of Shift reports against daily build plan, safety and performance
  • Work with RFU team to support material flow into, and out of the facility to support weekly build plan
  • Interface with DHL to Improve & Optimise capacity & utilization on sequence material collection routes (Workshop)
  • Raise all shopping carts for ad hoc repairs or special requirements
  • Raise any Consumable orders through IESA and track (KPI)
  • Track all damaged stillages, supervise return & repair and track costs
  • Circulate latest Safety bulletins and alerts to 3PL
  • Authorise KSM when required
  • Authorise Deviation from process when required
  • Cover Seq Resupply ‘C’ & RFU Supervisor ‘D’ grade during absence / Holiday etc.
  • Raise all IT Access requests for JLR Access to CMMS, CDSID, EMA, KD2000 & SAP access
  • Drive manufacturing systems throughout facility, including supporting DHL delivering 5S, safety walks, Kaizen Lean learning and any JLR systems and processes that can be shared when required
  • Ensure compliance to, and represent CKD in Internal and 2nd Party audits relating to IATF certification and standards
  • Maintain JLR WAY Processes as Administrator, DRIM, T Matrix, R&R, Risk Register, Turtle, Train Logs
  • Maintain Fire evacuation register, and perform roll call as Fire Marshall

 

Data Integrity

  • Working with Data Integrity, support part changes and model year programs to ensure a smooth transition and minimise Obsolescence. (LEQOS)
  • Working with RFU teams, supervise Obsolescence returns to main plants (CB/SOL/EMC/ & Halewood)
  • Support and work with the JLR Sequence team to achieve its targets.
  • Identify and implement cost saving initiatives (Freight Reduction, EMC, GO Bulk Project & Packing, Inventory location Aftermarket)

 

Facilities

  • Working with 3PL and plant, lead Maintenance and facilities standards and processes. Provide Leadership and support to workgroup members at times of reactive maintenance, ensuring safe working at all times.
  • Instigate and lead improvement projects
  • Develop plans for obsolete equipment removal and upgrade
  • Determine how critical a failure is to the organization based on the priority of equipment, the severity of the fault and the impact on Production. Support DHL team when required in Emergency breakdown cover to repair failures
  • Keep asset register up to date
  • Prepare Statements of Work (SOW) for new tenders
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate RAMs as required
  • Support & Organise JLR activities on Facility master schedule (BES Insurance Inspections)
  • Liaise with 3PL on agreed Annual facility Master schedule cadence.
  • Identify Suitable suppliers to support Day to day Maintenance and Future Projects
  • Support Project initiatives, obtain quotes, interface with suppliers and supply accurate information.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Essential

  • Relevant previous experience of Operational environment including consistent delivery of productivity targets in Manufacturing
  • Experience of managing multi-skilled teams in multi-shift operations in Manufacturing or logistics
  • Proven experience of operational delivery processes and procedures
  • Thorough understanding of Logistics/ Manufacturing Processes, Tools and Techniques
  • Demonstrable and experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving.
  • Working knowledge and experience of delivering SQDCME scorecard metrics
  • Proven ability to work within tight deadlines & be able to manage and prioritise multiple activities simultaneously
  • Experience and working knowledge of Health and Safety Audits
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to move rapidly from problem identification to resolution. 
  • Organised, collaborative, resilient and ability to deliver in a time-sensitive process environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, balancing competing priorities to achieve deadlines, and deliver operational plans in a complex, high demanding environment.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with and manage key stakeholders to influence cross functional engagement.

  • IT and Business Process knowledge - Compliance with standard policies and procedures.

  • Thorough Understanding and Application of Lean Tools and Techniques
  • Experience working in a fast paced Logistics / manufacturing environment
  • Experience delivering facility, engineering or manufacturing based projects
  • Experience of working in partnership with a 3rd party contractor at management level
  • Knowledge of Material Planning & Logistics highly desirable.
  • ERP Systems knowledge and experience – including CMMS3 & SAP
  • Experience of managing external suppliers and constructively challenging and driving them to improve performance.
  • Strong track record of successful Stakeholder Management.
  • Enthusiastic in identifying business improvements and/or opportunities.
