Job Details
1. Lead the design and development of new mechanical products, ensuring that they meet specifications and standards.
2. Use SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components and assemblies.
3. Apply principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to optimize product designs for ease of manufacturing, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
4. Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate design performance and reliability.
5. Develop and maintain project engineering plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and sales, to ensure successful product launch.
7. Utilize Matlab for data analysis and problem-solving.
8. Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality management system requirements.
9. Continuously improve current products and processes for better performance, lower cost, and higher reliability.
10. Provide technical support to manufacturing and other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
3. Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
4. Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
5. Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems.
6. Experience with Matlab or similar technical computing software.
7. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and product design principles.
8. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
