Position Objective:

Are you a seasoned procurement professional with a passion for driving strategic initiatives and delivering value? Join Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd. (PCL) as the Manager, Procurement, where you'll be an expert advisor within our Finance and Administration team. Leverage your expertise to create competitive processes, harness brand power, and achieve economies of scale, all while minimizing total cost of ownership, mitigating risks, and providing exceptional service to our internal customers.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Guide and mentor the procurement team, consisting of one direct report.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and present procurement planning information to business department management and PCL Business Plan (Procurement) at Porsche AG.
  • Contract Review: Conduct procurement reviews of key contracts, advising on commercial terms, pricing, and specifications.
  • Project Management: Lead procurement efforts for strategic projects, offering expert advice and overseeing negotiations and external consultants.
  • Supplier Agreements: Manage new supplier agreements and contract amendments, ensuring legal approval, appropriate signatories, and proper documentation.
  • RFP/RFQ Development: Collaborate with PCL and Porsche Centre North Toronto (PCNT) to develop request for proposal (RFP) and request for quotation (RFQ) documents for indirect goods and services.
  • Sourcing Strategies: Implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies across all departments to meet corporate and procurement objectives.
  • Supplier Reviews: Facilitate strategic supplier reviews, including vendor recommendations and contract awards.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Analyze vendor quotes and proposals to determine the most desirable suppliers based on price, quality, experience, and capabilities.
  • Contract Negotiation: Incorporate terms, conditions, key performance indicators, and service level metrics into vendor contracts.
  • Decision Support: Prepare vendor recommendations for decision-making, ensuring compliance with selection processes.
  • Procurement Platform Management: Create purchase orders and monitor procurement workflows using the Zycus Procurement platform, recommending system improvements as needed.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assess vendor performance against service level objectives and research market trends and pricing.
  • Training and Compliance: Develop and maintain training materials for employees, ensuring awareness of procurement policies and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work proactively with PCNA and PAG Procurement to implement new policies and coordinate regional contracts and strategies.
  • Document Retention: Ensure proper retention and safeguarding of vendor files, including contracts and business confidential information.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years in procurement/purchasing, with at least 5 years in the automotive industry preferred, and 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • Skills:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of business principles and procurement strategies.
    • Strong leadership and management capabilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with individuals at all levels, including executive management.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
    • Experience with SAP and/or Zycus systems is a significant advantage.
    • Automotive Retail Procurement experience is advantageous.
    • Ability to manage meetings, presentations, and complex timelines.
    • Strong contract interpretation skills.
