Logistics Analyst (Level 7)

Job Description

This is a hybrid role: this position requires to work 3 days on site 2 days at home remote on a full-time basis

What you will do:
-Responsible for executing deliverables in support of the logistics organization's business objectives.
- Provides support of one of the key areas within Logistics and / or Containers organization to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.
- Communicates within the function as well as other functions, external affiliates, regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers
- Influences others within the organization to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
- Identify problems, update or modify work methods that may be complex in the work area without the benefit of defined procedures.
- Promote GM's values and makes customer-focused decisions.
Removing Roadblocks & Resolving Issues/Complaints: Observes and steps up to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.

Additional Job Description

Inbound Logistics Analyst

Responsibilities.

1) Leading development of logistics cost controls and forecasting tools.

Lead cost control and Cost Per Unit governance activities for selected plants.

Analyze logistics cost drivers and performance.

Review actual versus planned cost.

Develop action plans to improve performance.

Explain deviations to Forecast.

Assist in development of logistics budget and monthly run rates.

Improve financial forecasting.

Manage spot buy reasoning and invoice approval process.

2) Managing launch activities.

Complete key activities in support flawless launches (optimal logistic design at minimal cost).

Project Manage the Logistics Master Dot (milestones and deliverables).  

3) Managing cost saving initiatives.

Identification, tracking and implementation of ideas.

Host weekly meetings to follow up and implement saving projects, stop spending and logistics network redesigns.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Understanding Logistics, Finance, and Operations.

Able to work Cross-function (Plant Office Managers, Material Directors, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Logistics Providers).

Ability to lead problem solving activities and manage project timelines.

Capability to concurrently manage multiple cost saving projects and initiatives.

Ability to analyze basic financial data and identify cost drivers.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficient MS Office skills – Power BI, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Finance (preferred). 

3-5 years of work experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management (preferred).
