WHAT TO EXPECT



JLR's Hardware Domain of the Digital Product Platform (DPP) Technical Centre requires an experienced Electronics Component Engineer to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to support the development of our Electronics Control Units (ECUs).

 

You'll get the opportunity to work with the Electronics Design and Semiconductor teams to ensure that the appropriate devices are selected and lead / provide technical capability, as well as conducting component selection for the design, manufacture, and introduction of electronic modules / ECUs for JLR programs.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and oversee individual components for vehicle electrical modules and Electronics Control Units (ECUs
  • Develop precise component requirements, documentation, and specifications for Electronic Modules/ Electronics Control Units (ECUs)
  • Ensure components readiness for manufacturing, volume production, and validation
  • Create and maintained Bill of Materials
  • Assist with functional safety, cyber security, and failure mode analysis for Electronics Control Units (ECUs) development with the commodity delivery team
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders
  • Support the development of the component and hardware design processes and methodologies

     

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Experience delivering in a similar role within the automotive, aerospace, or similar sectors
  • Understanding of advanced electronic components, design, and validation methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience of component selection and database management for use in electronic designs for automotive, aerospace, communications, or similar applications
  • Experience in the production of detailed component requirements, documentation, and specifications for electronic modules.
  • Knowledge of quality methods like failure mode effect analysis, failure modes effects and diagnostic analysis or fault tree analysis
  • The ability to lead and influence stakeholders through effective communication
