WHAT TO EXPECT

 

You will become part of a team who supports JLR Electrical Engineering by realising their rigs for system and sub systems test and verification. This role is laboratory based and requires hands on skills in electrical and electronic systems working with the other members of the HIL Operations Team, designing, building and maintaining HIL test systems supporting the day-to-day test operation. You will be involved in configuration of diverse test systems and support the development of JLRs electrical architecture in our Modern Luxury vehicles. You will be a part of the lab’s technological development supporting the increasing demand for effective software and component verification, verification of cyber security applications and in certain cases you will be required to be creative and innovative in facilitating customer needs. 

 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

•    Deliver the rigs used to validate the system or software under development to meet the business and customer requirements on time at appropriate quality and cost

•    Support Electrical Test assets and test system design, build, maintenance and post-test teardown/reuse activities and support programme/platform specific equipment usage, part storage and on-going electrical test asset updates and test activities

•    Development Cyber Security test assets with customer team, to meet their validation and development requirements

•    Pro-actively assist in creation and refinement of activity processes and procedures in the Electrical Test facility and ensure high levels of Facility tidiness and cleanliness at all times in line with company process (5s, Office Standards)

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

•    Knowledge and familiarity of advanced diagnostic techniques, Network, management and associated software packages (ASL. CORVUS, CANalyser, DSpace, NI Systems etc)

•    Good understanding of vehicle electrical and/or electronic system testing techniques 

•    Experience of building vehicle electrical systems on vehicles or rigs and successful delivery of these projects

•    Previous experience within engineering or programme planning departments
