Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an F-15 General Mechanic to assist in our maintenance efforts at Royal Air Force Base Lakenheath, Brandon, United Kingdom.

This is a Long-Term Assignment to the United Kingdom for a minimum of 2 years. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided. Ability to meet international assignment health requirements required. If accompanied, family must also meet international assignment health requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and service aircraft engine, fuel, and lubrication systems.
  • Servicing aircraft fuel and lubrication systems.
  • Evaluate engine performance by operating aircraft engines on the ground.
  • Perform turbofan engine removal and installs, and testing and repair of engine systems and components and auxiliary power units.
  • Remove, repair, replace, inspect, and troubleshoot aircraft fuel system and components.
  • Perform daily, pre and post flight and periodic inspections on aircraft.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results).
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Oversees training.
  • Works under general direction.
  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Coordinates assembly, disassembly, or overhaul.
  • Solves sophisticated problems pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.

General Mechanic:

  • Performs end-of-runway, postflight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections.
  • Advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft and related aerospace equipment.
  • Uses technical data to diagnose and address maintenance problems on aircraft systems.
  • Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
  • Solves problems and maintains F-15 aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment.
  • Removes and installs aircraft components.
  • Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems.
  • Adjusts, aligns, and rigs aircraft systems.
  • Supervises and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.
  • Performs aircraft and component operational checks.
  • Interprets inspection findings and resolves adequacy of corrective actions.
  • Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation.
  • Inspects and operates powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.
  • Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair.
  • Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation.
  • Inventories and maintains aircraft equipment.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work as an Expat at RAF Lakenheath, UK.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance
  • Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience on military fighter platforms (F-16, F-18, F-22, F-5, F-14, or F-15)
  • Fighter Electrical modification experience

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country.
  • Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable.
  • Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country.
  • Because the candidate selected will be expected to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned. These contingencies also apply to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.

Typical Education/ Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years of related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:
Relocation benefits will be provided only to the international assignment.

Summary pay range: $59,500 - $80,500.
