Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for an Experienced Electrical Mechanic to join our F/A-18 team in San Antonio, TX.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components
  • Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components
  • Determine equipment malfunctions to restore equipment condition and or operation
  • interpret technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals
  • Perform on and off aircraft electrical modification to electrical wiring and system components
  • Perform complex connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables and fiber optic wiring
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft electrical and environmental systems depot maintenance level

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in aircraft electrical modification to electrical wiring and system components
  • 10+ years of experience with shop practices, electrical/electronic theories and systems
  • 10+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modification/repair
  • 10+ years of experience accessing aircraft computer data systems to initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests
  • Able to work variable shifts

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with F-18/Fighter or Depot Level/Modification maintenance
  • Active Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).

Typical Experience/Education:
High school diploma or GED and typically 10+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Summary Pay Rate: $77,314 - $37.17 per hour

Additive Pay:  $1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification

                         $1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification
