Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company’s CASO (Chief Aerospace Safety Office) Organization seeks an Enterprise Certification Process Manager (Level K) to join the Product & Services Safety – Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness team located in Everett, WA.
 
This is an exciting role leading the execution and integration of certification and airworthiness processes affecting all business units across the enterprise: Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), and Boeing Global Services (BGS). The ability to develop and maintain positive and healthy relationships with regulators, customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports is a key attribute to being successful in this role.

As an Engineering Manager, you should be comfortable providing both technical and project management guidance, leading efforts to address regulatory concerns, as well as leading process improvement activities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Enterprise Certification Process Team, managing a group of engineers who oversee a suite of certification and airworthiness processes used across all Boeing business units.

  • Supports ongoing efforts to integrate Digital Engineering capabilities into certification and airworthiness processes, including supporting the development of Solution Kits, Capability Roadmaps, Design Practices, etc.

  • Establishes a vision for future certification and airworthiness processes that integrates Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning (AI/ML) and related technologies to improve the delivery and effectiveness of certification and airworthiness processes. 

  • Ensures integration and visibility of process changes through the Enterprise Certification Process Governance Board (ECPGB).

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, ensures alignment with regulatory policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

  • Develops and manages staffing forecasts, skill metrics, trends and visibility for leadership and inputs into Long Range Business Plans, establishing and leading teams, developing and motivating employees, monitoring and responding to technical developments, risk management, and managing all aspects of projects to closure.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Everett, WA)

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role.

  • 1+ years of experience in leading and/or managing a team. 

  • Experience and familiarization with FAA processes and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working directly with the FAA and/or ODA on certification projects Leadership style that moves people to act, motivates and inspires excellence and innovation.

  • Experience translating complex issues into cohesive, actionable components and communicating at an executive level.

  • Familiarity with different work management and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum, etc.).

  • Experience building consensus, negotiating, and empowering teams when process definition may not yet exist or is unclear.

  • Experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience building and maintaining a psychologically safe environment of inclusion, transparency and trust.

Summary pay range: $147,050 - $198,950
