£60,000 - £69,900 (DEO) plus a range of fantastic benefits

As the Distribution Manager for our Brakes Warrington RDC, you’ll be responsible for the effective leadership of the transport function, managing a large fleet of circa 150 multi-temp vehicles and leading an amazing transport team of 240 FTE. You’ll ensure that all aspects of this busy distribution operation, including overseeing a satellite depot in Morecambe, run effectively and efficiently, and that your team is motivated and engaged to deliver the best possible customer service.

Reporting to the site General Manager, you will be the main transport CPC license holder for site, taking responsibility for the overall performance of the department and the achievement of key performance indicators. As the budget owner for the function, you will be commercially aware, using both data and management information to meet and exceed performance expectations. Additionally, you will be responsible for the adherence to legislation, company policies, the ongoing compliance of fleet management and the safety of your team. As an ambassador for the organization, you will be expected to lead by example, ensuring a positive and engaging working environment.

We are looking for an experienced manager who has led a large, busy and complex transport and distribution operation. You will have excellent operational knowledge, but just as critical will be your leadership ability. As a member of the depot senior leadership team, you will have a strong people focus, drive your team to achieve the highest possible levels of service for our customers and effectively manage organisational change as our business continues to transform. You will provide clear direction for the transport team, creating a positive, high-performance working culture. Forward thinking, you will have a continuous improvement mindset and a proven ability to identify and implement solutions that enable and deliver service and cost benefits. Experience of a multi-temp operation would be beneficial but is not essential.
