Creates design specifications for automotive thermal systems products, systems, and components. Analyzes design problems and formulates engineering solutions. Has full responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, practical tolerances, compliance with standard procedures and design manufacturing requirements of finished drawings and efficiency under which drawings are produced.

Lead all activities related to 2D and 3D CAD design of manufacture-able Automotive HVAC Systems. The following is a summary of major day to day duties:

Responsible for quality of both 3D and 2D related CAD and drawings in Valeo's native design package in line with the economical targets.

Responsible for BOM creation and maintenance in the Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) system.

Lead all design reviews and related health chart documentation, related to designs.

Required to ensure all designs conform to Valeo “Norms.”

Manage timely closure of Design issues thorough QRQC , PDCA and FTAs
-
Support Prototype and production builds as needed at internal, supplier and customer locations as required by Project team Leader.

Required to assist and give direction to the design team locally and internationally regarding vehicle packaging and drawing completion.

Support product team in entering and modifying PLM change requests as needed.

Lead product team in processing design related engineering changes in PLM system.

Support Product /Process Engineer in creating and maintaining DVP&R, DFMEA, PFMEA, and other quality related documents.

Required to support the Engineering community with quality related issues such as non-conforming parts and prints.

Must be willing to travel locally, regionally and internationally as required by the project team to support program related activities.

Responsible for incorporating all necessary Valeo, and customer requirements related to design standards.

Must support and lead all CAD and design activities related to Valeo suppliers.

Responsible for creating and maintaining timelines related to design activities in line with overall program milestones.

Required to support/assist Product engineer in obtaining and interpreting FEA studies and results.

Support all quoting activities as it pertains to preliminary BOMs, drawings or presentations.

SPPC’s - Responsible for supporting and defining SPPC Dimensions based on the DFMEA, Customer interface points and other critical dimensions.

Health chart /Dimensional reports- Required to create, publish, and maintain all dimensional reports and product health charts.

VRF / VTR - Must lead and support purchasing to complete and agree to dimensional requirements for all suppliers, internal and external.

Responsible to lead and support all design reviews (RAISE, Supplier, and Customer) as needed to meet program timing.

Must be able to provide and execute design related timing which supports Project timing and deliverables.

Supports System Engineers in ensuring the most severe vehicle environment & safety requirements are validated against.
