Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company’s Information Technology & Data Analytics organization is currently seeking a Cloud Database Administrator (Senior or Expert) to join the Integrated Product Data Management (IPDM)team in either Hazelwood, MO; Arlington, VA; Berkeley, MO; El Segundo, CA; Everett, WA; Huntington Beach, CA; Kent, WA; North Charleston, SC; Renton, WA; Ridley Park, PA or Seattle, WA. 

The selected candidate will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining databases for Siemens Teamcenter used by engineering and product support and services supporting Boeing defense programs. The selected candidate will provide On Prem and cloud support.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and maintains databases

  • Designs, implements and supports database backup, recovery systems, database migration and archiving systems and procedures

  • Implements database security infrastructure and manages user access accounts

  • Collaborates with architects and technical specialists to identify proper hardware and software implementations

  • Plans, installs and tests software upgrades and patches

  • Develops, plans and establishes database performance baselines

  • Monitors performance trends to identify and correct problems

  • Works on a dynamic, cross-functional team on the development, deployment and administration of complex, large and integrated database systems

  • Helps lead projects by evaluating technology options, running proof of concepts, educating Database Administrator (DBA) peers/customers on choices or test findings, creating checklists for other DBAs and helping to implement Oracle database solutions

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience with Operating systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux or SUSE Linux

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL database administrator (DBA)

  • 5+ years of experience with working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience installing, upgrading, patching, configuring and maintaining Oracle on UNIX (RedHat Linux) platforms

  • Experience with setting up and maintaining Oracle Golden Gate and DataGuard

  • Experience developing and maintaining UNIX shell scripts, SQL, and PL/SQL programming

  • Experience performing database cloning, backups, restoring, recovery, and monitoring

  • Experience implementing database high availability

  • Experience with RMAN and Oracle Enterprise Manager

  • Experience with distributed database technologies (materialized views, database links and replication)

  • Experience with database performance, tuning, and troubleshooting

  • Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies

Typical Education & Experience:

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.)

Expert (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Senior: $118,150 – $171,350

Summary pay range for Expert: $136,000 – $196,650
