Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Poland Sp.z o.o. is currently looking for a Cloud Application Architect to join our team in either Gdansk, Warsaw or Rzeszow, Poland.

The position will be associated with one of the Poland offices. However, candidates can work from our office or in hybrid mode from home if preferred.

Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Cloud Application Architect for our private internal cloud team. As an expert, you'll guide app teams in modernizing existing VM-based applications, migrating them to Containers within CaaS/PaaS. Your role will drive innovation, scalability, and efficiency in our cloud ecosystem.

Please note that the position will be in touch with customers and teams all over the globe, hence working hours may differ slightly depending on the demand of support needed. The role therefore offers flexible working options, including hybrid or remote (with possibility of occasional on-site visits as per business need).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Application Assessment: Evaluate VM-based applications, identify modernization candidates, and assess containerization feasibility.
  • Modernization Strategy: Develop a clear, time-bound modernization strategy for each application, including container adoption and cloud migration.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Lead application containerization using Docker and orchestrate using Kubernetes for streamlined management.
  • CaaS/PaaS Migration: Facilitate seamless migration of containerized applications to CaaS/PaaS within our private cloud.
  • Performance Optimization: Partner with app team leads to optimize application performance and resource utilization in the containerized environment.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure containerized applications adhere to security and compliance standards.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with modernization trends and identify process improvements.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance during and after modernization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in application modernization, containerization, and cloud migration.
  • Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and private internal cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of CaaS/PaaS offerings and cloud security best practices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with VMware hypervisor, Kurbernetes container technology stacks such as Tanzu and RedHat OpenShift, Infrastructure as a Service and Infrastructure as Code methodology.
