Job Description
On-site: This position requires an employee to be on-site.
The Health Center Nurse is responsible for providing emergency care, first aid and episodic treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses within standing orders. This position works toward the prevention of illness & injury, protection from work related and environmental hazards, and promotion and restoration of health. Individual will maintain accurate medical records related to legal, regulatory and reporting requirements. Motivated to work independently.

The purpose of this casual role is to provide absenteeism coverage and supplemental support, as required.

Work schedule will vary based on local operating needs. There is no minimum number of hours per week.

There will be an opportunity to submit schedule availability in advance for planning purposes.
1. Prepare the patient for consultations, examinations and treatments.
2. Observe, recognize and describe the signs and symptoms at the level of their qualification.
3. Perform specifically prescribed, or routine treatment.
4. Integrate the health team, participating in the Pre-hospital Care, providing assistance to Basic Life Support.
5. Support the doctor when requested;
6. Keep Ambulance equipment in order and operant;
7. Assistance of accident victims, preparation and maintenance of documents and other related measures;
8. Control and maintenance of the stocks of medicines and other consumables belonging to the clinic;
9. Assist in the administration of the fulfillment of the occupational programs as Periodical Health Examinations, Occupational Exams and others.
10. To give suitable destination to hospital waste in accordance with ISO 14001.
11. Disinfection and sterilization of used surgical material.
12. Maintain and control medical manuscripts and electronic files.
13. Ensure the cleanliness, cleanliness and good order of the place.
14. Integrate the health team, participating in the Pre-hospital Care, providing assistance to Basic Life Support.

Successful candidates will be required to attest to, and be prepared to provide proof of, their vaccination status and that any job offer will be conditional on the candidate being fully vaccinated.
Education and Training
-
RN Diploma/Associate degree required, BSN or BS preferred
-
Valid College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate of Competence

Two or more years Nursing experience. ER or Occupational Health experience preferred

Certified in Healthcare Provider CPR/AED
