JOB TITLE: CAE Project Engineer
LOCATION: Budapest

As the Seat CAE Project Engineer, you will be reporting to the CAE Chapter Lead and this role will be to support seat development across all variants and across all vehicle lines, with tasks including supporting early phase development of new product through to establishing new CAE processes.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Key outputs of this role will focus on the virtual series deliverables as well as issue resolution throughout the program using the best FEA practices and techniques.
- Support the development of Automotive Components/Systems using engineering knowledge and experience combined with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques, to meet Seating performance targets
- Run CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the component Lead Engineers in an efficient manner
- Have some product knowledge and awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing, etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions for side occupant assessments
- Coordinate and lead project teams through the feedback of results as required
- Coordination of teamwork is likely to use Agile principles
- Support and present at design reviews with key stakeholders
- Liaise with all internal customers of our business as well as offshore operations where necessary
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field – or hold equivalent industry experience (e.g. automotive)
- Strong theoretical background in structural analysis, solid mechanics as well as numerical and computational methods
- Proven experience in conducting CAE simulations, DOE’s, robustness analysis, and optimization
- Experience in the use of Dummy models in LS-Dyna for Crash and Injury assessments
- Knowledge of material testing and material characterization for LS-Dyna material cards
- Expert understanding of implicit and explicit (static and dynamic) FEA
- Hands-on experience with LS-Dyna and Optistruct solvers
- Experience with model building, troubleshooting and debugging
- Hands-on experience with pre and post-processing tools like Oasys (Primer, D3Plot, and T/HIS) and/or Altair HyperWorks
- Scripting experience
