Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is looking for a B-1/B-2 Senior Software Engineering Manager to join the B-1/B-2 Software team located in Tinker AFB, OK.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

This is a senior management position that will manage first level managers and senior level individual contributors that are responsible for a number of software engineering sub-functions on the B-1 and B-2 Bomber platforms.  This includes multiple software development, software systems, and software test teams that are responsible for building and testing aircraft software systems. In addition to aircraft software, this senior management position will include oversight of research and development, as well as internal applications development programs that are relevant to the platforms.  This position will also have responsibility for strategic direction and oversight of the organization, reporting to the division software capability leader. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages managers and individual contributors performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages program cost and schedule commitments

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes

  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers and stakeholders

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)

  • 5 + years of experience in software engineering

  • 5 + years of experience leading or managing software engineering activities

  • Experience with software implementation, software requirements, and software testing/verification

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of and experience working in embedded software engineering aerospace environments

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Summary pay range for Manager: $165,750.00 - $224,250.00
