Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join the Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software team located in Seattle WA, Tukwila, WA, or Everett WA. The selected candidate will be part of an agile end to end software development team, build the next-generation software products, create, and deploy the innovative software applications in real word.  The successful candidate will have the valuable opportunities to make meaningful impact by designing and building software products with engineering excellence to ensure safety, high quality, and on time software delivery.

Boeing is seeking a talented, motivated, and high-performing software engineer to help create technologies that will define the future of aerospace. In this position, you will collaborate with other world-class scientists, researchers, and engineers innovating on a range of technologies including: Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), and Simulation.

As part of Boeing Research & Technology's (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability, our software engineers use their expertise to dream up next-generation software capabilities for amazing aerospace, satellite, and autonomy platforms. We develop cutting edge software applications that will improve the future of software capabilities, airplane and flight controls, cyber security solutions, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and much more. Our products help solve Boeing's most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses.

Projects can range from new software products for the revolutionary 787 Dreamliner to innovative aircrafts across several commercial, autonomy, defense, satellite, and space platforms.

This position may require up to 10% travel.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contributing the full software development lifecycle as a full stack software engineer, including problem analysis and planning, Software Architecture & Design, Software Development, Software testing, and Software deployment with operational excellence.

  • Working efficiently as part of the agile team with experience of Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, etc.), Linux, frontend, backend, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

  • Building and delivering software products by Python/C++, and AI/ML techniques to ensure on-time delivery with safety and high quality.

  • Collaborating with peers and stakeholders internally and externally effectively.

  • Attending and presenting technical work in internal meetings with great verbal and written communications.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study in computer science, data science, mathematics, engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, or physics.

  • 1+ years of experience designing and developing software using any of the listed programming languages - Python, C/C++, or Java

  • 1+ years of experience with Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with new product development as part of the agile team

  • Experience with Python/C++, relational database, and AI/ML techniques.

  • Experience with Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, etc.), Linux, frontend, backend, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering related field.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).  In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range for Experienced:  $90,950.00 - $123,050.00
