POSITION SUMMARY:
Working on the Creative Team, the Art Director fulfills the specific creative needs of the dealerships to reduce in-store production and maintenance costs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and product managers, to ensure the customer's digital experience is aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly, and aligned with the Ken Garff brand. This position will also assist in developing and implementing campaign concepts that range from outdoor to video. On occasion, you'll need to get your hands dirty and help with dealership offer banners and emails. Additional responsibilities include training the creative team on execution, store process, coordinating with the workflow manager and Senior Art Director, collaborating with other digital department heads, leading campaign concepting meetings, and ensuring the team is reaching key performance indicators.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Creative Direction: Provide artistic leadership and direction for digital design projects, ensuring that the visual style and user experience align with our brand and strategic goals.

2. Concept Development: Brainstorm and develop creative concepts, themes, and ideas that meet project objectives and resonate with the target audience.

3. UI/UX: Apply your background in UI/UX design to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance the overall user experience.

4. Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, user needs, and business goals. Work collaboratively to create design solutions that meet these objectives.
5. Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams.
6. Design Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on design deliverables to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality, usability, and performance.
7. Brand Consistency: Ensure that all digital design work adheres to our brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent and cohesive visual identity across all digital touchpoints.
8. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment. Provide constructive feedback to help team members grow and excel in their roles.
9. Presentation Skills: Create and deliver persuasive presentations to pitch creative concepts and ideas to clients or internal stakeholders.
10. Stay Current: Stay up to date with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies to continuously improve our design processes and outputs.
11. Creative Assets: Provides all digital assets to our dealerships, including:

  • Digital content (wireframes, web, app, social, display ads)

  • Internal communications

  • Corporate content

  • In-store content & signage

  • Brand outdoor

  • Library of assets for possible repurposing at alternative stores

REQUIRED SKILLS & PROFICIENCY:
• Proven experience as an Art Director in a creative agency or similar role
• Strong portfolio showcasing your art direction and UI/UX design skills
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
• A deep understanding of visual aesthetics and design principles
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Knowledge of marketing and advertising principles
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Familiarity with the latest design trends and technologies
• Required 2+ years’ experience at an Art Director level

• Creative Team deadline adherence
• Increased unaided brand awareness
• SEO/Social/Digital KPI performance on specific campaign assets (i.e. CTR, Page Stickiness & Bounce Rates, Open Rates, etc.)
• Process improvement (i.e. production pipeline, artistic improvement, technical improvement, etc.)
• Process implementation (i.e. photography process implementation, in-store video implementation, etc.)
• Ongoing process & production efficiency improvement
