THE OPPORTUNITY

 

In your role as Agile Project Manager, you will be exposed to vehicle engineering programs and products where we are evolving the automotive technology of the future. You will be working with product and engineering leaders to drive collaboration across multiple software development teams. You must have a strong working knowledge of agile methodologies, in scaled environments, as well as more traditional SDLC methodologies.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

To excel in this position, you will need a strong background in software release or project management. In addition to this a degree in Computer Science, Business or a related area would be advantageous, but not essential. An understanding of Agile methodologies would also be highly beneficial as well as experience in working with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with Group Product Owner (GPO) to deliver group goals and objectives on annual/quarterly basis.
  • Collaborate with GPO, Product Owners (POs), Scrum Masters (SMs) to act as primary facilitator and coach for group events during the life cycle of the group products.
  • Work with the squads within the group (GPO, POs, SMs) to create/maintain backlogs aligned to the product roadmap in order to support business prioritisation and program deliverables.
  • Coach and guide PO's and SMs within the group in their delivery of high-quality products as agreed with GPO and Chapter Leadership.
  • Guide / coach the SMs within the group to facilitate agile ceremonies and lead by example.
  • Enablement of timely obstacle resolution within the group to ensure obstacles (risks, impediments, dependencies) are resolved/escalated appropriately.
  • Support group with data-driven metrics, providing insight on their ways of working/delivery/processes.
  • Be point of reference in tools supporting ways of working (Jira, Confluence)
  • Interaction with multiple diverse stakeholders both locally and across the JLR global sites will be expected.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

Essential:

  • Strong experience in delivering/releasing software products.
  • Significant experience in Agile & SDLC
  • Experience of managing products & backlogs in tools such as Confluence & JIRA
  • Knowledge in working across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience in facilitating / leading large-scale innovation / planning workshops or similar events.
  • Quality focus of delivered product – key advocate for “Definition-of-Ready” & “Definition-of-Done” at all levels.
