Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) is seeking a highly motivated and self-starter Additive Manufacturing Materials Engineering Manager to lead our growing Materials and Manufacturing Technology Additive Manufacturing Development team in Auburn, Washington.  

This manager will lead a team focused on developing additive manufacturing materials, equipment, and production capabilities, and providing support to the Auburn AM Fabrication Center.  Integrating with the Boeing Additive Manufacturing (BAM) team and supporting implementation of Additive into Boeing products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities within multiple Engineering disciplines

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management, and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, coaches, develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience leading projects and/or teams

  • 3+ years of experience in a lab/production environment

  • 1+ years of experience with Additive Manufacturing technologies

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Material Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering

  • Experience with Metal and Polymer Additive Manufacturing materials and processes technology development

  • Experience with Material and Process Specifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience monitoring group performance, provide status and communicate risks, issues, and roadblocks to business unit and program leadership

  • Experience with interpersonal and team building skills performed in a cross-functional environment

  • Prior Manager experience preferred

Summary pay range: $138,550 - $187,450
