The Role
The role of the Accounts Assistant should be to provide support to the Dealership Accountant within the relevant Franchise and the wider Retail Finance team. The key objectives of the role are;
- Supporting the Dealership Accountant across a number of dealerships
- Local month end duties (eg. PEP pack)
- Compliance reviews including deal file audits
- Supporting operational teams with Finance related queries (eg. vehicle debtor queries)
- Management of the AX system for sites
- Ensuring adherence to accounting policies
- Ad hoc financial inquiries
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Dealership Accountant(s) with relevant analysis and reporting to aid their business partnering activities
- With the assistance of sales vehicle admin (SVA), complete and reconcile the monthly stock check and reconciliation
- Complete local month end procedures for site(s) including completing the PEP pack, escalating any MCF issues and obtaining necessary sign off where required
- Supporting the sales team to reconcile the DOC weekly, ensuring that Autoline (Kerridge) accurately reflects the DOC
- Manage the DCM system and reconcile fuel expenditure for the site(s)
- Develop in-depth knowledge of all relevant policies and procedures and ensure adherence to these; escalate issues in case of non-adherence
- Support the operational teams to raise payments and refunds in a customer centric manner, ensuring quick resolution in the event of any queries/delays
- Maintain control of vehicle debtors for site(s), ensuring timely resolution of all aged debt and outstanding queries
- Support the sales vehicle admin (SVA) team and the Finance Centre to resolve banking queries in a timely manner
- Support the operational teams to move purchase invoices through the system efficiently and with minimal queries/delays

- Autoline (Kerridge) knowledge desirable
- Ability to use Excel Spreadsheets
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Deadline -oriented
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to achieve objectives in the face of resistance and ambiguity, whilst maintaining strong relationships
- Strong customer first focus
- High level of integrity and always prepared to ‘do the right thing’
